FACT:
No state that borders Michigan has a helmet law.
Over a ten year time period, from 1993-2002, according to NHTSA
statistics,
the surrounding helmet-less states have a lower motorcycle fatality rate
than Michigan
does with a helmet law. Why is that? It might be that a helmet does not
prevent
an accident. Rider Education, motorcycle licensing, and car driver
awareness are the
keys to motorcycle accident prevention.
